A first-of-its-kind fundraising gala is entering the Dynamics space.
TechFluent, a non-profit organization providing mentorship and training on Microsoft
business applications to under-resourced US communities, will hold its first-ever fundraising gala on May 14 in Denver alongside DynamicsCon LIVE 2024.
The evening event at Denver’s Microsoft Office will include refreshments, entertainment and networking.
Liz McGlennen, a self-described “accidental CRM administrator” and Microsoft MVP, founded TechFluent in 2020 after connecting with the United Kingdom-based Power Platform School.
By 2023, Liz says that more than 100 industry professionals volunteered with TechFluent as trainers, mentors, and coaches.
“People are so willing to support and help out,” Liz says.“I’m always impressed by the dedication and quality they bring to something that is volunteer.”
One of the organization’s volunteers is Ben Vollmer, a 30-year veteran of the CRM space. He sits on TechFluent’s board of directors.
Ben says one of the TechFluent graduates welcomed him onto RSM’s team when he joined as its power factory growth and product leader.
After graduating, the former student found work at RSM andtold Ben about his journey.
Ben says that experience exemplifies how a big part of theprogram’s success is about making connections.
“Creating cohorts allows for a social structure that makesthese students much more successful,” he says.
In fact, building relationships is one of the goals ofTechFluent’s upcoming fundraiser, he explains.
“The idea here is to create connections and fellowship,” hesays. “To let you see firsthand what some of these TechFluent students and graduates have done in this ecosystem.”
The event will also likely serve as a preview of what great things are yet to come.
